What happens when a church got robbed by 5 knife wielding guys? Pretty unbelievable right? Well, that is what happened yesterday during a song practice yesterday at my church.

The story goes like this....

It was 11 something that night and there were 7 people practicing songs when suddenly a guy with a motorbike helmet came in through the door holding a knife.

"Apa mahu nyanyi lagi?" he said and soon after that 4 other guys who were also holding knives came in and quickly kick 2 of my friends, Michael and David, to the floor while holding the knife to their neck.

Another guy held a knife towards the 3 girls while 2 others searched for our belongings.
This is basically the story. 7 handphones and over 200 dollars were stolen. Not to mention the ICs and licenses.

Incidents like this normally make us wonder why God would want such bad things to happen on us sometimes. We would make assumptions that we may did something wrong and God wanted to punish us or that sort of things.

However, no matter what happens to us, the most important thing is to remain faithful and obedient. Even if it's death of a loved one or other things that would pierce your heart, the best thing to do is to pick up yourself and continue your journey.

A period of mourning is okay but staying at a point, regretting, mourning and not doing anything is not going to change the fact that the bad thing had taken place. No matter how much tear you shed, how sorry you are, nothing is going to change.

So what's the best thing to do when you're faced with a big letdown?

Move on! Continue on your journey with a happy heart. Mourn and move on. Nothing is gonna change if you stay at 1 point. If you really feel regret and sorry, then live on your life with a more positive attitude. Look at things with a positive heart and be happy!

Put your sadness into God's hand and let him take care of it and continue on your path.

Anyway that's all I can say here. Luckily those 5 Malay guys are not "ham sup" guys. If not who know's what will happen to the 3 girls. I'm sure this incident will cause a big stir. Who knows what will be next?

If a church is also not safe, no where can be considered safe anymore. maybe we should carry a big steel pole where ever we go as a precaution.

Til then, Happy New Year!

Why am i a Christian freak?

Some people will ask me. Heck, being a Christian freak is much better than being a money freak or a fame freak or other types of freaks to be found.

I believe that everyone of us lives for various reasons. Some live for money, others for fame and a few for fun or maybe self-satisfaction. Not to mention those who live around aimlessly.

However, i find that living the way of the world does not suit me. Don't you feel that life's pretty pointless if you live for money for example? Like they all say, when you die, you die, nothing that belongs to you on the earth will follow you. Not your money, not your fame, not your family, nothing.

So what's the point of working so hard to get something that you will eventually lose when you die?

Some of you might agree with me. You would also go on and say that not working and living life to the fullest by enjoying yourself is the way of life. For example, partying everyday, clubbing or maybe hanging around aimlessly. What's the pouint of working when nothing lasts, right? It's better to enjoy your life by doing what you like. Wrong too.

In my opinion, i think that the kind of life i mention above is way much worse than being a money freak or family freak. People who live that type of life have no future. Yes, maybe the fact that you come from a wealthy family means you can do what you want and like but think deeply, do you expect to rely on your parents forever? And is really living for the sake of enjoying yourself fulfilling? Self satisfaction is also temporary. It cannot keep you happy 24/7 nor it can give you the true sense of peace, love and belonging.

So, why are we living then if life has no meaning at all? If i say that money, fame, family, self satisfaction are all temporary, then might as well we all commit suicide since living has no meaning. Wrong again.

There's still 1 more reason to live for and that is through God. We are mere human beings, objects of creation and true sense of belonging and peace can only be found in God. And that is why i choose to be a Christian freak. It is because it can offer what money, fame, sex and other worldly things cannot offer.

My Life's Purpose and Meaning

Do you know what is your purpose of life?
What or whom are you living for?
Do you what are you going to get from your path of life?
What are your priorities in life? Love, sex, work, studies, family, computer games, self satisfaction or God?
Have you ever think about these?

are you the type who work non-stop because you want to be rich and wealthy? To earn yourself a better life and to fulfill your life's dream by doin what you have always dreamt for? Or to give a better life for your family?

Or are you the sort of person who wants to be famous and known around the world? To be a famous singer or actor?

No matter what your life's purpose is, don't you ever think that what you have been doing all your life will become pointless once you are dead? No matter how much money you have earned, how many companies you own or how famous you are, you can take non of these to the grave.

Have you ever think of what lies beyond the grave? Of where are you headed after death? Will there be something more or life just end with death?

I, myself, believe in life after death. I believe that there would be a judgement on all of us after our death and the judgement will not be based on what we have achieved in life but rather on how have we lived our lives. I believe in heaven and hell, where each of us will be sent to according to how we have lived or life.

What's my purpose of life? What and whom am I living for?

Simple, I am living my life in the name of Christianity.

Sure, some of you may ridicule me or laugh but let me ask you, if living your life for Christ sucks, then why there would be so many people willing to scacrifice everything for Him? Why there would be so many missionaries travelling around the world spreading the word of Christ?

I find that living my life for Christ is much more fulfilling than living for women or money. I can find peace and love living like this. Nothing else can give what Christianity gives me. Although life would not be a bed of flowers, in Christ, I can rest assured that someone is always beside me, guiding and leading me along the path of life and I do not have to worry about where I am heading because I know my final destination is heaven.

Maybe I could not see Christ directly but i do know He is real because of faith. You could not see the air too, right?

Besides, there is nothing to lose in believing. Out of so many religions and beliefs, I find that Christianity is the most trustworthy one because it gives me what I can't find in other religions which is peace, solace, comfort and the basic things I need in life.

And most importantly, Christianity is based on love, peace and hope. And we can all agree that everything in life have to start from love.

My conclusion? Life's true meaning and purpose can only be found in Christ. He can give what money, sex and other worldly things cannot. You would not lose anything believing. Living for Christ ROCKS.
