Whatever battle that rages withing us, we have a choice..

"Whatever battle that rages within us, we still have the power to make the right decisions in life. And is those decisions that will affect our lives the way it is."

That was the ending message of Spiderman 3 movie, or at least is something like that, I think. But that doesn't matter anyway, because I think this mesagge is really a great one.

Some people might wonder why so many of us like Spiderman, well the answer is simple, because Spiderman's life closely resemble our life. He same like most of us, facing everyday problems like securing a job, paying the rent and having to cope with a girlfriend in life and yet have to carry the resposibilities of protecting New York and facing the psychotic villians.

How many of us can really do what he does?

-
I'm sure most of us are like Spiderman. We have tons of problems to face everyday. Be it a small one like tripping and falling down, to big ones like death of a loved one, we can never escape from facing trials in our life.

But no matter what storms that come to us in life, we have to choice, a choice that will change the trials we are facing into something positive or into something destructive that will bring nothing good except hurt and tears to others.

-
In the movie, Spidey choosed revenge over forgiveness to those who have caused him a great deal of suffering before. In the end, he not only risked losing his life, his best pal got killed trying to save him from his enemies.

But regrets are regrets, no matter how much tears you spill, how much sorrow you undergo, once you have made a decision, it's really hard or even impossible to undo it.

The same goes for Spidey, he regretted the actions that he took very much, but nothing in the world could bring his friend back and heal the hurt he have caused to the girl he loved so much.

-
"Whatever battle that rages within us.."

Yes, humans do face a lot of battles everyday. Battles that tires us out, that make us really want to give up on living, battles that shatters out heart.

But the truth is, this doesn't give us a reason to make the wrong choices, to unleash the anger and frustration in our heart. To vent it all out on those whom we love and eventually causing hurt to both them and us.

If we would have done this, it means that we have already lost the battle it our heart.

-
True victory means rising up from the ashes, standing firm in spite of the storm that are trying to bring us down, not giving in to the feelings of frustration and hatred in our heart but instead rising up and practicing forgiveness.

Like Sandman said in the closing of the movie, nobody in this world wants to be caught up in trouble or to be faced with trials, but it is these trials that shape us into who we are, it is these trials that teach us the lessons about living and to make us better humans, if we make the right choice.

-
What am I trying to say?

Simple.

Everyone faces problems, trials, but the thing that set severyone apart are the choices we make, the path we take to solve the problems that we are facing, which people that will rise up to the occassion. Whether that we can turn problems into a light or to darkness for ourselves and others.

Remember, no matter what battles that we have to fight, we always have a choice. And the choice is not in other people's hand, but in ours. All we need is to be strong, oh and do not forget to rely on God for strength and comfort.

PWF (People Without Future)

"PERSON WITHOUT FUTURE (PWF)", that's a new term me and my friends invented during a normal walk out during parade. So what does this term mean anyway?

Well in other words, PWF is the equal to sluts, bitches, jerks, bastards etc in a more politeful, civilised language and more straight forward to the point.

-
So, what is definition of PWF in a more understandable manner? Well, it is used to refer to teenagers generally because hey, who cares of the future of an 80 year old man? PWF basically means someone

1. who do not have a future,

2. who maybe in 20 years time regret all the actions he/she did when he/she was young and why he/she did not treasure all the time he/she had last time

3. who wasted their teenagers time doing things that are not productive and even worse bring harm to others and themselves like smoking, joining gangs

4. basically, someone who sight are only focused on today, without the slightest care of what they can give to others from their life and do not realise that how blessed they are, living without a meaning like no headed chicken

-
How to you identify a PWF? It's pretty simple actually. Just take a walk around a shopping mall nowadays and mostly the teenagers that you see can be categorised into this category.

The basic characteristics of PWF are those who think that there is no use going to school, that having fun is better than having a meaningful life, who likes to create attention for themselves, who are nothing but nuisance and those who lives life quite wastefully for the rest of their lifes. Those who are considered to be "cool" doing stuff like smoking, wasting time, joining gangs, dating etc.

-
Some of you might now start wondering, am i against this kind of people? No, of course I am not against it. Its just that people have different views and from my point of view, those who fall into the PWF category are wasting their life.

Why? An example, a kind hearted man gives a kid a toy to play but not only the kid does not appreciate it, he spoils it. The same applies for us. God gave us each a special life, with goods and bads of course, for a reason but we not only do not treasure this life but instead we use it to create all kinds of problems and wasting all the talents bestowed upon us.

-
Why? I just cannot understand sometimes. I cannot understand why some people would just cannot see this through their eyes. They may think that they are having a time of their life now, doing what they want, getting attention, being admired and thinking that this will stay forever.

WAKE UP and think. What's the point of doing all the activities that will bring you harm and no good in the future?

Yeah maybe you will be popular, aceepted and deemed cool, but at what cost?

A life without money, depending on your parents the whole life?

Or a life as a construction worker? Whose life at morning is just work and night is spent at pubs, coffee shops and the whole family is a mess?

Or a life without certanities and purpose? You do not know what are you living for and where are you going in life. Like a no headed chicken?

-
Spend some time and really think for yourself. If studying at school is really that useless, wouldn't they have abolished it a long time ago?

And why are those people who are knowledgeable like Albert Einstein are remembered for a long time and not those "cool" people like gangsters, celebrities?

Wouldn't you want to change the world? To do something good and not simply WASTE your life?
Notice that that i always used the word waste here. Think for yourself the reason i use the word.

-
Compare and see. Which of this is the true meaning of living to the fullest?

A life concerened of fun only and mainly about yourself. That your motto is enjoy everything while you can before you die and your biggest contribution in life is nothing more than maybe, cracking a few stupid jokes that make people laugh. A life that people will remember and say , "What a waste.."? So called PWFs?

Or a life dedicated to helping others? To maximise the blessings in your life for example wisdom to make this world a better place? A life that although simple, you have no regrets because you have not done anything bad and you lived as a HUMAN BEING with heart and brains. That when you die, you'll be remembered as someone who did not wasted his life doing stupid things but giving it your best for God, world, country or your loved ones.

Which one do you want?

My Brush With Death

You must be wondering why this post is entitled "My Brush With Death". Well, it's pretty simple actually, I was involved in an accident yesterday. I was hit by a car from my right when i was on my motor.

Pretty coincident isn't it, just after a few weeks I wrote a post with the title "My Death Will", and already I am involved in an accident.

-
For those of you who are wondering how I am doing, I am glad to say I escaped with just minor injuries.
And I am very lucky considering the car came at me with such high speed. Hmm, looks like my everyday prayers worked or it isn't time for me to go to heaven yet.

-
When I first saw the car coming at me, the first thought that came to my mind was "Am I going to die?" and then like the movies, things seemed to slow down before the car hit.

A million thoughts was in my mind that time thinking about my friends, my family and whole lots more. Besides,I even pleaded with God inside my heart not to let me die so fast because I never hold a girl's hand before!!

-
Aside from that, I can say everything is quite normal now for me. Except maybe after this accident my perspective at life will change a little bit. Like they say, you'll never know when it's your time.

So treasure your life and do not waste it. Besides that, I also want to say to all my freinds that I love you all and if I do anything wrong please forgive me! Just want to say it so that I won't regret it next time.

Oh, by the way, i also found out that getting check up in the hospital can be pretty embarassing. Among the things that I need to do is to take of my pants during the X-ray check and having to put my urine in a bottle. Lol..

Grateful for what I have

Humans are greedy. We would never get satisfied with the things in our life and we would often want more from it. Besides that, we also like compare with other people and end up getting jealous if their belongings are better than us.

But how often would we be thankful for what we have in our life? Most of the time, we overlooked the small blessings in our life while we are busy gumbling and complaining.

-
The same goes for me. I used to wonder why my life sucks so much compared to those of my friends.
I mean, like they can go out late at night, can have up to date handphones, have wealthy parents and all sorts of things that I could only dream of.

-
But i did not realise that everything in my life is there for a reason. My parents, my school, my friends and the enviroment of my life.

All these helped shaped me into what i am today. If any of these were different, who know's what kind of Luke Phang Cher Hong you would know today.

I agree that many aspects of life are not perfect, but I am ever grateful because I am not born into a war-torn area or into a broken family. Everything I have is just enough for me. At least I know that all of my needs are fulfilled.

-
Besides that, I also learned to look at things from a bright side. Having a positive attitude in life can really help you face questions and trials in your life.

Yes, although I cannot hang out as much as my friends can, I know that the curfew imposed for me are for my own good. Too much freedom can cause someone to stray but too little can make someone rebel. What my father did is truly smart and i respect him for it.

-
So although sometimes my life can look not as good compared to others, I understand that there are others with condition worse than me and I understand that everything is here for a reason.

So next time anyone wants to complain, take a deep breath and admire what you have in life. Mybe your loving parents, ever supportive friends or even just the sunshines that you get to see everyday. you'll never know when will be the last time you can see it.

Why I Choose To Stay?

Lately I have been bombarded with questions of why the heck i did not apply for any scholarships for tertiary studies and choose to go for form six instead। Those who ask me this are also telling me that how stupid I am to waste my "excelent" SPM results and opt to waste another two years in form six too.

So now I guess I'll have to make it clear to you all, and if there is anyone else that ask me the same question, i'll show them this blog's URL so I don't have to waste so much time explaining again and again।

-
Firstly, why are people rushing to ask me to go for tertiary education in colleges or universities? (And that includes applying for scholarships)

Well, the answer is pretty simple actually।

MONEY

Why? The faster I can finish my tertiary education, the faster i can come out to work and earn money। Besides, applying for scholarships FOR THE SUBJECTS I HATE can also save up a lot of money right? But too bad, it's the subject I hate.

-
So what is my reason of not choosing to further my education to colleges or universities?

It's quite simple also. I just want to enjoy the secondary school life for one last time बेफोरेब moving on to the next phase of life। Don't you notice that once you step out of secondary school, you can never return. And life beyond the secondary school is way different that what you have gone through all these years.

Take college for example, studying is way more difficult, more assignments and the studying time is way more longer। And maybe you'll be staying far away from home, unable to meet your friends for a long time.

-
Besides, i still cannot leave my church youth behind। There is still so much for me to do there before I leave. Our youth had just began to grow and I want to be there to support and help all the time.

Morever, there are still so many of my best buddies there and I would just like to spend more fun time with them before each of us choose our own path and take off

-
And there is the question of money। - What? Do you know how little you can earn by taking up that course? - For me, do not even try talking about money in front of me.

Yes, money is indeed important, but not as important as your friends, family and doing what you enjoy right? I do not pursue wealth, I just hope to have a simple life, enough to eat, enough to wear and tehn having a job that I like plus a happy family। That is all I want from life.

To me, money always come second, what is more important is not regretting the actions I have done and I can sincerely tell you, I am quite happy in "wasting" my two years time in Ipoh। Because i know I will be surrounded by friends, doing the things that I like.

-
I hope this pretty much sums up my answer to the questions of why I do not choose to go for any scholarships now. Til then, see ya^^
