After a day of elderly service

It was the third day of Chinese New Year. It was supposed to be a day spent with family and a day to just sit back and relax. But still, four of us from Eusoff Voluntary Corps went about our weekly routine of getting 21 packets of food to be distributed to the needy elderly. I'm not complaining about myself, but I'm lamenting about the situation that is surrounding some of the elderly that we visit every Saturday to give them food and to keep them company.

Living in a one room HDB flat alone with no family and having to undergo the same daily routine which involves basically doing nothing but to sit around the house the entire day is not my idea of happy retirement.

I am so not gonna retire in Singapore.

They dont have children or their children dumped them? So sad ):
